Challenge Bugatti Veyron !!!

Wild 1322bhp Koenigsegg One:1 to challenge Bugatti Veyron

This is believed to be the first picture of the Koenigsegg One:1, so called because its power output of 1340hp (1322bhp) matches its kerb weight of 1340kg.

Details of the extreme Bugatti Veyron rival are scarce, although insiders have revealed the car will generate 600kg of downforce, aided by the enormous rear wing, and more than 2G of lateral grip under cornering.

It has also been suggested the car features active aerodynamic devices and what is described as an active chassis, all of which adjust to keep the car in its optimum specification depending on use.

Visually, bar the rear wing, the car bears a strong resemblance to the Koenigsegg Agera.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and Grand Sport Vitesse, powered by a 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged W16 engine, both develop 1184bhp. Rumours suggest that Koenigsegg may not fit a limiter to the One:1 in an effort to eclipse the Bugatti's world record top speed of 258mph.

Meanwhile, the quoted downforce of 600kg is equivalent to that generated by the McLaren P1 at 160mph.

Koenigsegg has not confirmed when the One:1 will be revealed, but next month's Geneva motor show is thought to be likely.
